What IS Magic?

First we have to ask that question ... just what IS magic?

If we don't have at least some agreement on this, then we won't know that we are discussing the same topic and discovering, revealing, unfolding the same secrets.

When I hold workshops, this is always the starting point. We have interesting brainstorming sessions that come up with some varied ideas ... and we do (eventually) get to an answer.

It's amazing how many never even think about what we mean about something, 'magic' in this instance, and just use a label, a term, without thinking. And once we DO start to think about it ... it takes some exploration to get clarity. This is healthy - something we should perhaps do MORE of with other labels we use and take for granted.

Anyway - I digress!

So, my exercise for today, for you is:
What is magic?

Write down a few sentences, phrases, even single words that sum it all up for you.

And I'll take a look at some answers soon. In fact, every July and August I run 4 Day versions of my 'Discovery of Magic' workshop (this year in London again) and this question forms the opening exercises. Perhaps I'll post some answers I get from students and delegates for further inspection and discussion. Then I can move on to the second part ...... but more on that later. Now it's over to you.
